Sustainability

Premium For Universe

Every beautiful moment we offer our guests on the Mediterranean coast comes with a responsibility — a responsibility towards nature, the land and the future. At Kirman Premium, we view sustainability not as a marketing choice but as the very essence of how we manage our hotels. From energy consumption to waste management, from water policy to community contribution, every decision we make is guided by this perspective.

Premium For Universe is the sustainability programme that brings Kirman Premium’s environmental and social vision under a single umbrella. This programme proves that holidaying need not conflict with nature — with the right choices, the two sit beautifully side by side. The initiatives conducted under five pillars are tied to concrete, measurable targets and audited by independent organisations.

Renewable Energy

Photovoltaic solar panels installed on our hotel rooftops sit at the heart of our renewable energy generation. Solar collector systems cover a significant portion of pool heating and hot water needs, while energy management systems detect and correct unnecessary consumption in real time. All areas have transitioned to LED lighting, and in-room sensors automatically switch air conditioning to standby mode in unoccupied rooms. Thermal insulation applied across our buildings significantly reduces cooling and heating loads throughout the year.

Energy efficiency is not limited to infrastructure; policies optimising energy consumption are also applied across operational processes. Energy-efficient equipment is preferred in laundry, kitchen and technical service departments. All these investments are sustained while reducing our carbon footprint without compromising guest comfort.

Less Plastic More Environment — Plastic Reduction

Aware of the devastating environmental impact of single-use plastic, we implement a source-reduction strategy across our hotels. Refillable dispensers replace single-use water bottles, metal and paper alternatives replace plastic straws, and large-volume refillable bottles have become the standard instead of individually packaged mini products.

Agreements with our suppliers also aim to minimise packaging of raw materials delivered to our hotels. Information materials encouraging guests to use personal water bottles are provided. The sum of these small steps prevents tonnes of plastic from entering the environment each season.

Kirman Premium Forest — Reforestation Project

Kirman Premium Forest is a reforestation programme launched to offset our hotels’ carbon footprint and enrich the region’s natural cover. Trees planted in suitable areas in and around Antalya both absorb atmospheric carbon dioxide and contribute to local biodiversity.

Our guests can also participate in this programme. During their stay, they can join a symbolic tree-planting event, transforming their holiday memories into a lasting environmental legacy. This forest, growing every season, is the greenest signature Kirman Premium leaves for the future.

Zero Waste

The steps we take towards our zero-waste goal are multifaceted. Kitchen organic waste is composted and used for garden fertilisation. Colour-coded recycling stations placed throughout the facilities separately collect plastic, glass, metal and paper. Agreements with licensed recycling firms ensure the collected materials are processed correctly.

In our kitchens, portion optimisation, demand forecasting and creative menu planning are employed to reduce food waste. Surplus food in usable condition is shared with local charitable organisations. This holistic approach aims to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill each year.

Power Zone — Water and Resource Management

Water is the most fragile resource of the Mediterranean basin. Mindful of this reality, low-flow fixtures, sensor-activated taps and drip irrigation systems have become standard practice across our hotels. Laundry operations are run on a full-load washing principle; our guests’ towel renewal preferences also directly impact this process. Pool water recovery systems minimise losses caused by evaporation.

The Power Zone approach extends beyond water conservation to encompass the efficient use of all resources. Rainwater harvesting systems for garden irrigation, greywater recovery in technical units, and the selection of regionally appropriate, low-water-demand plant species in landscape design are all part of this programme.

Community Contribution

Sustainability applies not only to the environment but also to people. Our employment policy at Kirman Premium hotels prioritises local talent; the proportion of staff nurtured from communities around Antalya, Side, Manavgat and Alanya increases every year. The same approach applies to the supply chain: daily raw materials such as fruit, vegetables and dairy are sourced from regional producers wherever possible. This reduces the carbon footprint while strengthening the local economy.

Supporting regional cultural heritage events, collaborating with local civil society organisations and participating in community projects during the off-season are also part of our social responsibility philosophy.

Our Certifications

Independent organisations also verify our sustainability commitments:

Green Key — One of the world’s most prestigious environmental certification programmes, Green Key validates our hotel’s performance in energy, water, waste and environmental education through regular audits. This certification assures our guests that they are presented with audited facts, not green claims.

Travelife — The Travelife programme, which sets global standards for sustainable tourism, evaluates social, environmental and economic performance together. This certification proves that Kirman Premium is independently audited not only for environmental awareness but also for social contribution and economic responsibility.

Our Concrete Goals: Measurable reduction in energy consumption year on year · Continuous decrease in single-use plastic · Increasing recycling rates · Raising the local sourcing ratio · Expanding reforestation areas

The Role of Our Guests

Sustainability is a team effort. When you stay at Kirman Premium, you are part of this journey. Here are the easiest ways to contribute to the environment during your holiday:

Follow the towel policy: Hanging your towel indicates you wish to reuse it; placing it on the floor signals a change is requested. This small choice saves tonnes of water and detergent every day.

Use the recycling stations: Placing your waste in the correct bin within the room or facility directly increases recycling rates.

Use the air conditioning efficiently: Turn off or switch the air conditioning to eco mode when leaving your room. Although room sensors support this process, conscious use makes a real difference.

Avoid plastic: Bringing a personal water bottle reduces single-use plastic consumption to zero. Refill points throughout our hotels make this choice easy.

Choose local: Support the regional economy by choosing local products and services in the area. The local flavours served in our restaurants are also a reflection of this philosophy.

You do not have to choose between a wonderful holiday and a responsible stay. At Kirman Premium, both are possible at the same time.
